Victoria Woodards was first elected to the Tacoma City Council in 2009. Victoria is running to be elected to serve a second term. Victoria has called Tacoma her home for nearly her entire life. For over two decades, Victoria has made community the cornerstone of her service. Before joining the City Council, Victoria served as the President of the Tacoma Metro Parks Board. She has chaired several commissions and served on many boards benefitting the people of Tacoma. For many years, Victoria has served as the lead producer of Ethnic Fest. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Tacoma Urban League.
During Victoria's first term on the Tacoma City Council, Victoria has been honored to continue her commitment to community leadership on a citywide level.
As a Councilmember, Victoria has made people the focus of her work. Victoria believes a prosperous city only exists when our residents are taken care of and given the opportunity to succeed. Victoria has worked to invest in our local businesses and create jobs, protect our most vulnerable citizens by protecting vital services, and make our communities safe through an initiative to study gang violence in our neighborhoods.
